Q.
What does an installed Smartnav
look like in my car?
A. The visible
parts of Smartnav are a discrete backlit button, a microphone
and speaker. These will be fitted to your vehicle in locations
agreed between yourself and our installation engineer. The
main unit and wiring will be completely hidden from view and
will not interfere with or affect your driving experience.
Q.
Is Smartnav transferable from vehicle to vehicle if I sell
my car and will it leave any damage to my car?
A. Smartnav is
transferable, but will need to be removed and refitted by
an engineer. The removal of the unit should not leave any
damage to your vehicle.
Q. How
often are the maps updated in Smartnav?
A. The maps used
in Smartnav are updated at least every 3 months so the driver
is provided with the latest mapping and given accurate routing.
Mapping on other satellite navigation systems is stored on
CD and DVD and can be a year out of date before the user even
starts to use it.
Q. Can
Smartnav be fitted into any car?
A. Smartnav has
been designed so that it can be installed in any car. Our
engineers will be able to advise on the best positioning of
the unit, button, speakers and microphone so that it does
not interfere with existing vehicle equipment.
Q. What
are the benefits of having Touch Screen?
A. Touch Screen
is ideal if you do lots of driving in inner cities where manoeuvres
are complex. It provides instant visual confirmation of the
manoeuvre and displays the road names together with a constantly
updated arrival time.
Q. Does
Smartnav work in Europe?
A. The Smartnav
product has been designed to allow for European mapping to
be added in the future without any additional upgrade or hardware
changes.
